About the Role
The Infanteer role is a vital part of the Canadian Armed Forces' combat team, responsible for executing missions in various environments. As a member of the infantry, you'll be trained to operate and maintain a range of weapons, including rifles, machine guns, and anti-tank weapons. You'll work closely with other teams, such as artillery and armoured soldiers, to achieve strategic objectives.The infantry is the backbone of the Canadian Armed Forces, providing the core combat capability. As an Infanteer, you'll be part of a tight-knit team, working together to overcome challenges and execute missions. You'll have the opportunity to develop specialized skills, such as parachuting and combat tactics, and work with advanced equipment, including night-vision surveillance and field communications.
What You Will Do
- Operate and maintain a range of weapons, including rifles, machine guns, and anti-tank weapons
- Participate in airborne operations, including parachuting and helicopter insertions
- Conduct field-craft, including camouflage, concealment, and sentry duties
- Navigate using day and night navigation techniques
- Construct field defences, including trenches and roadblocks
- Operate with support elements, such as fighter aircraft and tactical artillery
- Engage in unarmed combat and hand-to-hand fighting
- Employ camouflage and concealment, patrol, assault, defence, and escape-and-evasion tactics
- Inspect and maintain weapon systems, vehicles, survival gear, and personal defensive equipment
- Participate in training exercises and operations, both domestically and internationally
What We Are Looking For
- Completion of the provincial requirements for Grade 10 or Secondary 4 in Quebec
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions
- Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging environments
- Basic first aid and emergency response training
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment, including weapons and vehicles
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Adaptability and flexibility in responding to changing situations
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in a military or law enforcement role
- Specialized skills, such as parachuting or combat tactics
- Fluency in multiple languages
- Experience with advanced equipment, including night-vision surveillance and field communications
- Completion of a post-secondary education program
