About the Role

The Inside Furniture Account Representative role is a critical component of Staples Canada's sales strategy, responsible for driving furniture sales growth in new and existing small and medium-sized business accounts nationwide. As a subject matter expert in contract furniture, this role requires a deep understanding of the furniture industry, as well as the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers. The successful candidate will work closely with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and develop strategic plans to pursue them.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive furniture sales growth in new and existing accounts
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging the sales team and other resources as needed
  • Manage existing accounts, developing and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and deliver professional sales presentations
  • Provide subject matter expertise in contract furniture, advising customers on furniture solutions and strategies
  • Achieve contract and commodity furniture revenue and gross margin targets
  • Develop and maintain a high-value relationship with decision-makers, including CEOs, CFOs, and facility managers
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to provide customized furniture solutions
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments, applying this knowledge to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's product offerings and services
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner

What We Are Looking For

  • Post-secondary education in sales, marketing, or business, or equivalent level of experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in outside sales, with a proven track record of success in driving sales growth
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in facilitating collaborative meetings and developing strategic relationships with key decision-makers
  • Strong knowledge of the furniture industry, including contract furniture and commodity sales
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on results and achievement
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications, with the ability to learn and apply new technologies as needed
  • Ability to take measurements and provide solutions for customer spaces
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively

  • Experience in the contract furniture industry, with a strong understanding of industry trends and developments
