About the Role
The Inside Sales Supervisor role is a critical position at Thermo Fisher Scientific, responsible for managing a team of inside sales professionals who sell clinical laboratory products and services to acute and non-acute markets. This role requires a strong leader who can create a culture of mentoring and support within the team, while driving commercial accountability and ensuring effective customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience in sales management, preferably in the clinical laboratory industry, and be proficient in using Salesforce and Excel to analyze sales data and develop strategic plans.The Inside Sales Supervisor will report to the Senior Manager of the Inside Sales team and will be responsible for driving established sales strategies to meet plan and expand business within assigned territories. The role will also involve working closely with cross-functional teams, including supplier and internal resources, to meet customer needs and stay informed about new products and services.
What You Will Do
- Manage a team of inside sales professionals to achieve sales and profit forecasts
- Create a culture of mentoring and support within the team, with a focus on developing new team members
- Drive commercial accountability with the team across all metrics and marketing initiatives
- Ensure the team has effective customer relationships and develops opportunities for growth within an existing customer base
- Analyze reports to drive business decisions and complete account planning and forecasting
- Manage performance through KPIs and ensure the effective use of available sales tools and processes, especially Salesforce.com
- Work with the Sr. Manager of Inside Sales to research competitor and industry activity
- Introduce new products and services to customers and develop programs to drive growth despite economic conditions
- Manage pricing within territory to control profitability
- Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for proper management of the region
- Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations
What We Are Looking For
- 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the clinical laboratory industry
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in the sciences or equivalent work experience
- Prior Supervisor/Management experience preferred
- Experience with Salesforce.com
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
- Proven record of leadership in establishing goals and achieving results
- Computer proficiency in MS Office and the internet, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service
- Organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed
- Willingness to travel up to 25%

- Experience with other sales tools and processes, such as CRM software
- Knowledge of the clinical laboratory industry and its trends
- Certification in sales or a related field
