Instructor, FE & PE Engineering Exam Prep (PPI)

Your teaching skills, industry knowledge, and ability to engage students in a virtual classroom will be essential in driving student success.

What You Will Do

• Demonstrate excellent teaching skills and ability to engage students in the classroom while providing a strong focus on mentoring and driving student success.
• Serve as an industry and exam expert in areas of study, providing accurate and up-to-date information to students.
• Confidently host classes in accordance with the established schedule and curriculum, ensuring that all technical requirements are met.
• Prepare for course sessions, submitting errors, revisions, or improvements to the course slides or materials at least once per week throughout the program duration.
• Ensure all live webinar technical requirements are met, including logging in early to live sessions, ensuring the recording starts/stops, meeting minimal software/hardware/internet requirements, and delivering sessions in a quiet environment.
• Collaborate with other instructors and Kaplan staff to ensure a seamless learning experience for students.
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements, incorporating this knowledge into your teaching practices.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and stay current with best practices in online education.
• Utilize Excel and other software tools to track student progress, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 8 years of related experience.
• Licensed PE through NCEES (active and unencumbered).
• Ability to effectively utilize online classroom technology and engage students in a virtual environment.
• Dynamic speaking ability and excellent communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of FE and PE exam content and preparation strategies.
• Experience in teaching, mentoring, or coaching, preferably in an online environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice to Have

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Prior teaching or mentoring experience, especially in an online setting.
• Previous employment in the industry with detailed knowledge of licensing exam content and preparation.
• Experience with online learning platforms and educational software.
