Job Description

## About the Role The Insurance Follow Up Representative plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless processing of insurance claims and billing. This role is crucial in maintaining a positive relationship between the healthcare provider, patients, and insurance companies. As a representative, you will be working closely with various stakeholders to resolve any outstanding denials or rejections, verifying patient demographic information, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The day-to-day responsibilities of this role involve a deep understanding of medical billing processes, including ICD-10 and CPT coding. You will be utilizing digital skills to navigate through computer systems, including the GE patient management system, to manage claims and billing efficiently. As part of the HOPCo team, you will be expected to maintain high productivity and accuracy metrics, adhering to the company's AEIOU Behavioral Standards. This includes assuming full responsibility for reducing accounts receivable of insurance balances and analyzing accounts for proper claims processing and payment posting.

## What You Will Do - Review insurance denials and rejections to determine the next appropriate action steps - Verify patient demographic information and insurance eligibility - Update and confirm patient information as necessary to allow for the processing of claims to insurance plans - Research all necessary information to complete the billing process - Obtain and attach referrals/authorizations to appointments/charges - Maintain productivity and accuracy metrics per department expectations - Analyze accounts for proper claims processing and payment posting - Identify and communicate trends and potential issues to the management team - Follow and maintain all HOPCo policies and procedures

## What We Are Looking For - Minimum two to three years of experience in medical billing - Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and the public - Knowledge of computer systems, including the GE patient management system - Understanding of physician billing processes, ICD-10, and CPT coding - High school diploma or equivalent required - Experience with remote work environments - Digital skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
