About the Role
The Integration & Deployment Engineer position at GE Vernova is a critical role that focuses on the technical activities and processes necessary to support the sales organization in achieving its business objectives. This involves the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of demonstration systems for GE Vernova's Electrification Grid Software, with a particular emphasis on Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) and Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). The successful candidate will work closely with solution consultants and product management to ensure that customer-desired outcomes are demonstrable in the systems.This role is integral to leveraging GridOS, GE Vernova's end-to-end grid orchestration platform, to help utilities transition to more flexible, resilient, and intelligent distribution networks. This not only enables secure and reliable operations but also supports the clean energy grid of the future. Working in a remote capacity, the Integration & Deployment Engineer will be part of a global team that is shaping the future of energy distribution.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role are varied and challenging, requiring a strong foundation in electrical engineering, particularly in power systems, as well as experience in software deployment and configuration. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks, and collaborating with different stakeholders, including solution consultants, sales teams, and product management.
What You Will Do
- Deploy, configure, and test the demonstration systems of GEV Electrification Grid solutions, focusing on DERMS, ADMS, and SCADA.
- Troubleshoot and provide subject matter expertise to address issues found on demonstration systems, offering real-time support for solution consultants.
- Collaborate with solution consultants, sales teams, and product management to define demo requirements for the solution suite.
- Interface with pre-sales solution consultants globally to train them on new demonstration scenarios, system start-up steps, basic troubleshooting, and standard demo scenarios.
- Provide feedback to product and engineering on product issues, feature improvements, and/or product gaps based on experience or feedback from solution consultants and sales teams.
- Deploy and maintain demonstration systems in the Cloud, ensuring they are always up-to-date and reflective of the latest capabilities.
- Expand the set of standard demo scenarios and provide feedback on ways they can be improved.
- Write scripts to automate any system set-up steps needed to be done by the solution consultants, streamlining processes and improving efficiency.
- Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with team members, customers, and leadership, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
- Maintain and continuously update technical skills and knowledge to stay current with industry developments and advancements.
What We Are Looking For
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems, or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) plus 5 years of experience.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems, or in "STEM" Majors, plus at least 7 years of experience.
- Experience in deploying and configuring DERMS or ADMS software is highly desirable.
- Fluency in the English language, including oral, reading, and writing skills, is required.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems, with a strong analytical mindset.
- Experience with scripting and/or programming languages, such as shell, Perl, Python, Java, etc., is beneficial.
- Cross-platform experience (Linux, Windows) and the expertise to identify and resolve integration issues are nice to have.
Nice to Have
- Experience deploying or managing containerized environments with Docker/Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines and DevOps tooling.
- Experience deploying into or maintaining cloud environments using AWS.
- Knowledge of Perl, PowerShell, and SQL (MSSQL and/or T-SQL) scripting languages.
- Experience with system integration, e.g., SOAP, REST, Kafka, etc.
- Familiarity with database technologies, including RDBMS, SQL, NoSQL, and data modeling, data migration.
