About the Role
The Interior Designer position at AU Interior Design & Architecture is a unique opportunity for Philippine-based designers to work remotely with an Australian design studio. This role involves working on a variety of residential and commercial projects, from concept to completion, utilizing digital skills and design software such as Revit and Adobe InDesign. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative design team, working closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality design solutions.Day-to-day, the Interior Designer will be responsible for creating detailed design plans, selecting materials and finishes, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and to budget. The role requires a strong understanding of interior detailing, finishes, and material selection, as well as the ability to communicate design concepts effectively to clients and team members.
As part of the design team, the Interior Designer will report to the Design Manager and work closely with other designers, architects, and engineers to deliver projects. The team is known for its collaborative and dynamic environment, and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to this culture.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement interior design concepts for residential and commercial projects
- Create detailed design plans, including floor plans, elevations, and sections
- Select materials and finishes for projects, considering factors such as sustainability, cost, and aesthetics
- Utilize Revit to create detailed design documentation and joinery drawings
- Prepare design presentations and concept boards using Adobe InDesign
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design intent is maintained
- Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and ensure design compliance
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
- Communicate design concepts and plans to clients and team members
- Ensure that projects are completed on time, to budget, and to the required quality standard
What We Are Looking For
- Proven interior design experience in residential or commercial projects
- Strong portfolio of completed interior design projects
- High proficiency in Revit for interior documentation and joinery drawings
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign for design presentations and concept boards
- Understanding of interior detailing, finishes, and material selection
- Ability to translate design concepts into clear technical documentation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Australian design standards and regulations
