About the Role

The International Benefits Specialist for APAC is a pivotal role at Justworks, tasked with bringing the company's global benefits vision to life across the Asia-Pacific region. This involves building and managing a comprehensive portfolio of benefits that are both compliant with local regulations and competitive in the market. The ideal candidate will thrive in fast-paced, complex environments and be driven by the challenge of delivering high-quality, locally tailored benefits programs on a large scale.

As a core member of the team, the International Benefits Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that Justworks' promise of excellent benefits is delivered consistently across the APAC region. Justworks is committed to fostering a supportive and entrepreneurial environment where employees can grow and learn. The company values data-driven decision-making, continuous iteration, and a customer-centric approach. As such, the International Benefits Specialist will be expected to embody these values, working collaboratively with various teams to ensure alignment and driving results that contribute to the company's success.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the procurement, administration, and renewal of benefits for the APAC region, ensuring all global health, retirement, and other benefits programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with business strategy.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with vendors, brokers, and partners, negotiating renewals, service level agreements, and pricing to ensure value and compliance.
  • Research, design, and launch creative supplemental benefits tailored to local needs, such as wellness programs, family support, or mental health initiatives.
  • Serve as a regional benefits subject matter expert, supporting internal teams and addressing client-facing inquiries.
  • Audit data to ensure accuracy in eligibility, enrollment, and billing processes.
  • Collaborate with the Product, Legal, and Operations teams to maintain alignment with EOR standards and statutory requirements.
  • Develop country-level benefit summaries, communications, and enrollment guides to enhance the employee experience.
  • Work closely with the benefit operations teams to ensure efficient and effective enrollment of EOR employees in global benefit programs.

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration, preferably with a focus on international or global benefits programs.
  • Strong knowledge of regional statutory requirements and regulations in the APAC region.
  • Proven ability to manage complex vendor and broker relationships.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Experience in designing and implementing supplemental benefits programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with EOR standards and operations.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for meetings and training sessions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with HR systems and benefits administration software.
  • Certification in benefits administration or a related field.
  • Fluency in one or more languages spoken in the APAC region.
  • Previous experience working in a startup or rapidly growing company.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work with a growing, global company.
  • Collaborative and dynamic work environment.
  • Professional development and growth opportunities.
  • Access to cutting-edge technology and tools.
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness programs.
  • Generous paid time off policy.

How to Stand Out

  • Ensure your resume highlights specific experience with international benefits administration, compliance, and competitive program design.
  • Prepare to discuss your approach to managing complex vendor relationships and negotiating renewals.
  • Show examples of creative supplemental benefits you've designed and implemented in previous roles.
  • Be ready to address how you stay updated on changing regional statutory requirements and regulations.
  • Consider creating a portfolio that showcases your work in benefits administration, including any data analysis or communication materials you've developed.
  • During salary negotiations, emphasize your expertise and the value you can bring to the role, rather than just focusing on the salary figure.
  • When researching the company, look for reviews from current or former employees to get a sense of the company culture and values.
