About the Role
The International Purchasing Coordinator will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with vendors, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. This position will work closely with various departments, including engineering, operations, marketing, sales, and quality, to understand commodity requirements and align the supply base. As a key member of the supply chain team, you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of advantaged purchasing strategies to drive operational efficiencies and cost reductions.The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the buying and importing process, as well as excellent customer service skills. You will be expected to analyze purchasing cycles, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement changes to optimize shipments and reduce costs. This role will also involve managing and maintaining a database of invoices, quote requests, vendor contracts, and other purchase-related documents.

What You Will Do
- Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, negotiating prices and terms as needed
- Analyze purchasing cycles to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to optimize shipments and reduce costs
- Manage and maintain a database of invoices, quote requests, vendor contracts, and other purchase-related documents
- Coordinate inbound logistics, including tracking and reporting on order status and delivery issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, marketing, sales, and quality, to understand commodity requirements and align the supply base
- Support the development and implementation of advantaged purchasing strategies to drive operational efficiencies and cost reductions
- Respond to emergency requests and expedite orders as needed
- Adjust orders to optimize shipments and reduce costs
- Ensure internal and external stakeholder compliance with international purchasing policies and controls
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in consumer products, with a focus on international purchasing and procurement
- Proven experience and success in leading major cost savings initiatives and cross-functional teams within consumer-packaged goods companies
- Strong understanding of the buying and importing process, including international shipments via ocean freight and air freight
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of staff members and vendors
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, with exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented matrix environment
- Proficiency in tools such as Adjust and Excel
Nice to Have
- Experience with supplier relationship management and commodity reviews
- Knowledge of lean end-to-end inbound supply chain management
- Certification in supply chain management or a related field
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
- Proficiency in additional languages, such as Spanish or Portuguese
