Job Description

About the Role

The International Purchasing Coordinator will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with vendors, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. This position will be responsible for managing the purchasing cycle, from creating and tracking orders to analyzing and optimizing the supply chain. As a key member of the supply chain team, the purchasing coordinator will work closely with various departments, including engineering, operations, and quality, to ensure alignment and meet commodity requirements.

The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, strong business acumen, and a detailed understanding of the buying and importing process. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. The purchasing coordinator will report to the Head of Supply Chain and will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of advantaged purchasing strategies.

What You Will Do

  • Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, negotiating prices and terms as needed
  • Analyze and optimize the purchasing cycle to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
  • Track and manage orders, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues that may arise
  • Coordinate with various departments to understand commodity requirements and ensure supply base alignment
  • Review and approve purchasing documents, including invoices and quotes
  • Identify and mitigate supplier capacity and risk
  • Support the development and implementation of supplier relationship management strategies
  • Facilitate and lead supplier commodity reviews for strategic suppliers
  • Collaborate with the quality team to resolve quality and recall issues
  • Partner with the production team to launch new products
  • Manage lean end-to-end inbound supply chain across the company
  • Create monthly and annual purchase reports for management review

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in consumer products, with a focus on international purchasing and supply chain management
  • Proven experience handling international shipments via ocean freight and air freight
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive operational efficiencies and cost reductions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
  • Proficiency in Adjust and Excel, with experience in managing and analyzing large datasets
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
