About the Role
The Investment Banking Intern Summer Analyst role at mercor offers a unique opportunity to work with elite creative and technical talent, supporting leading AI research labs. As an integral part of the team, you will be responsible for evaluating the accuracy and depth of financial models, reviewing complex investment banking content, and providing structured feedback to AI research teams. The role is remote, allowing you to work independently and asynchronously, with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. You will be expected to meet deadlines and collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure consistency and relevance across datasets.
What You Will Do
- Evaluate the accuracy and depth of financial models to strengthen reasoning and rigor in model outputs
- Review complex investment banking content for alignment with domain principles and methodologies
- Provide clear, structured feedback to AI research teams to improve training data quality and downstream performance
- Develop evaluation rubrics and benchmarks for assessing AI-generated financial tasks and solutions
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure consistency, relevance, and coverage across datasets
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance
- Analyze and identify areas for improvement in financial models and AI research
- Develop and maintain databases to track financial models and AI research performance
- Assist in the creation of pitch decks, investment summaries, and company analysis
What We Are Looking For
- At least 2 years of experience in investment banking at top firms
- Experience in Financial Modeling, Pitch Decks, Investment/Analysis Summaries and Memos, or Company/Industry Analysis
- Strong understanding of financial principles and methodologies
- Ability to work independently and asynchronously
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to provide structured feedback
- Experience with AI research and development is a plus
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R
- Experience with machine learning and deep learning
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and tools
