About the Role

The Investment & Lending Associate role at LBC Mortgage is a critical position that combines underwriting expertise with business development and deal origination skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling commercial real estate transactions across multiple asset classes, including multifamily, office, retail, industrial, hospitality, and mixed-use. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial real estate finance, from sourcing opportunities to managing closings. As part of the LBC Mortgage team, the Investment & Lending Associate will work closely with lenders, brokers, borrowers, and capital partners to structure loan terms and investment scenarios based on risk assessment and deal strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial real estate underwriting, investment analysis, or mortgage banking, with a proven ability to source, negotiate, or originate commercial deals. What You Will Do

  • Underwrite commercial real estate transactions across multiple asset classes, including multifamily, office, retail, industrial, hospitality, and mixed-use
  • Analyze borrower financials, rent rolls, operating statements, tax returns, and market data to inform underwriting decisions
  • Build and review financial models, cash flow projections, and valuation analyses to structure loan terms and investment scenarios
  • Source and originate new commercial lending opportunities through brokers, borrowers, investors, and industry relationships
  • Manage deal flow from initial screening through closing, coordinating due diligence, legal documentation, title, third-party reports, and closing requirements
  • Present investment and lending recommendations to leadership, providing a clear and concise overview of the deal strategy and risk assessment
  • Maintain relationships with lenders, brokers, borrowers, and capital partners, ensuring effective communication and negotiation
  • Monitor market trends and identify strategic lending and investment opportunities, staying up-to-date on industry developments and market conditions
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including underwriting, closing, and asset management teams, to ensure seamless deal execution

What We Are Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in commercial real estate underwriting, investment analysis, mortgage banking, acquisitions, or loan origination
  • Strong understanding of commercial lending structures and CRE financial analysis, including experience underwriting income-producing properties and evaluating investment opportunities
  • Proven ability to source, negotiate, or originate commercial deals, with a strong network of industry relationships
  • Experience working with banks, private lenders, debt funds, bridge loans, agency financing, or institutional capital
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, with the ability to build and review complex financial models
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail

Nice to Have

  • Experience in commercial mortgage banking, CRE acquisitions, or investment analysis
