About the Role
As an Investment Researcher at mercor, you will play a critical role in developing and refining AI-driven financial models. Your expertise in financial modeling, market sizing, and investment research will inform AI research teams and enhance AI model training. The role of an Investment Researcher at mercor is multifaceted, requiring a deep understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and AI-driven modeling. You will be responsible for evaluating hedge fund strategies, developing financial models, and conducting market sizing and TAM analysis.
What You Will Do
- Evaluate hedge fund strategies related to long/short equity to enhance AI model training
- Develop and review financial models to improve AI-generated financial content
- Conduct market sizing and TAM analysis to inform AI research teams
- Analyze investment research, summaries, and memos for AI model evaluation
- Predict and analyze earnings to refine AI model outputs
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines and improve AI model performance
- Collaborate with AI research teams to integrate financial models and investment research
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and developments to ensure AI models remain accurate and relevant
- Develop and maintain documentation of financial models and investment research
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in top hedge funds
- Experience in financial modeling, market sizing/TAM analysis, or investment research
- Strong understanding of financial markets and investment strategies
- Ability to work independently and asynchronously in a remote setting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience with AI-driven modeling and machine learning algorithms
- Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools
Nice to Have
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or R
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and tools
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
