As an Investment Specialist, you will play a crucial role in identifying potential deal opportunities and developing investment summaries that drive business growth.

What You Will Do

• Evaluate and create board materials for venture capital projects, ensuring that all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date.
• Conduct market sizing and TAM analysis to inform investment decisions and identify potential areas of growth.
• Develop investment/analysis summaries and memos that provide strategic insights and recommendations.
• Source and identify potential deal opportunities in the venture capital space, leveraging your network and expertise to drive results.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet project deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing your time effectively.
• Contribute to projects with potential for future engagement with mercor, building strong relationships and driving long-term success.
• Collaborate with the team to share knowledge, best practices, and expertise, ensuring that everyone is aligned and working towards common goals.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the venture capital and AI research industries, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and growth.

What We Are Looking For

• At least 2 years of experience in venture capital at top firms, with a proven track record of success in evaluating investment opportunities and driving business growth.
• Experience in creating board materials and conducting market sizing analysis, with a strong understanding of financial models and investment strategies.
• Proficiency in investment/analysis summaries and memos, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to source and identify potential deal opportunities.
• Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment, with the ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and drive strategic decisions.
• Proficiency in digital tools and platforms, including data analysis software and communication platforms.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with AI research labs or technology startups, with a strong understanding of the latest trends and developments in these industries.
• Certification in finance or a related field, such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
