About the Role
The IT Engineer role at Float is a critical position that entails managing the internal systems, workflows, and support operations that keep the company's teams moving. As an IT Engineer, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day technology support to employees, administering and improving Float's core internal tooling, and building practical automations to reduce manual work. You will be working closely with various teams, including People and Recruiting, to design clear and durable support and provisioning processes.Float is a customer-obsessed, passionate, and entrepreneurial company that values feedback and decentralized decision-making. What You Will Do
- Own employee onboarding and offboarding workflows across key systems, with a strong bias toward end-to-end automation and operational reliability
- Administer and improve Float's core internal tooling, including identity, productivity, MDM, collaboration, and access systems
- Provide onsite and remote support for Mac hardware, software, office systems, and employee productivity issues
- Build and maintain practical automations that reduce manual work, improve consistency, and help the IT function scale
- Partner closely with teams like People and Recruiting to design clear, durable support and provisioning processes
- Document business-critical workflows and procedures to ensure continuity and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with the development team to identify and prioritize IT projects and initiatives
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in IT engineering or a related field
- Strong knowledge of Mac administration, SaaS tooling, and workflow automation
- Experience with identity, productivity, MDM, collaboration, and access systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with IT service management frameworks and methodologies
- Knowledge of cloud-based IT services and platforms
Nice to Have
- Experience with automation tools like Zapier or Automator
- Knowledge of programming languages like Python or JavaScript
- Familiarity with IT project management frameworks and methodologies
