About the Role
The IT Hive Virtual Administrator role at MCI Career Services is a key position that supports the company's integrated IT program. As a member of the team, you will work closely with systems engineers, architects, and technical streams to design, build, and support a streaming and messaging platform. Your expertise in Hadoop and data management will be crucial in overseeing end-to-end agile design, scoping, implementation, and working with development and service design teams to deliver high-quality products.The company is committed to fostering an environment where professionals can build meaningful careers and contribute to the success of a globally expanding organization. What You Will Do
- Deploy and manage Hadoop clusters, including adding and removing nodes, monitoring critical parts of the cluster, and configuring name-node high availability
- Install and configure software, patches, and upgrades as needed
- Plan and implement new or upgraded hardware and software releases for storage infrastructure
- Design, set up, and fine-tune Hadoop clusters for optimal performance
- Communicate with development, administrative, and business teams to ensure seamless collaboration
- Develop and implement data lake and data warehousing designs
- Provide helpdesk support to the organization, resolving tickets and critical issues
- Configure Hadoop security and implement best practices
- Schedule and take backups of the Hadoop ecosystem
- Manage data movement in and out of Hadoop clusters
What We Are Looking For
- Expert knowledge and hands-on experience in Hadoop ecosystem components
- Thorough understanding of Hadoop overall architecture
- Experience with Open-Source technologies, including configuration management and deployment
- Strong project management skills, with experience using tools like MS Project
- Ability to work effectively with application and infrastructure teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience with data warehousing and data lake design
- Knowledge of Agile design principles and methodologies
