Job Description

About the Role

The IT Manager at Recharge will play a critical role in leading the engineering team to deliver world-class features to end-users. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction of projects, ensuring timely delivery, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and operations, to create solutions that meet business requirements and drive customer retention and revenue growth.

As an IT Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers, product managers, and designers to shape the future of commerce and deliver seamless customer experiences.

What You Will Do

  • Lead a high-caliber engineering team, scaling as the business grows, and identifying and filling team gaps
  • Perform personnel management tasks, including performance reviews, compliance with company policies, mentoring, and career growth planning
  • Understand and manage team morale through regular assessments and collaboration with engineering leadership
  • Train new engineers on best practices, standards, culture, and policies
  • Foster a team-oriented, supportive culture with a strong focus on collaboration, inclusion, and delivering outcomes using agile methodologies
  • Work with all departments to empower employees and drive productivity
  • Be responsible for quality team output, on-call rotation, and maintenance schedule, and overall project management
  • Own IT tooling management, including vendor relationships and procurement management
  • Improve team productivity, refine agile processes, and create methods to increase efficiency
  • Investigate, analyze, and evangelize good engineering practices
  • Lead the creation and execution of novel solutions to complex technical problems
  • Align the team's work with Recharge's business and engineering priorities to realize meaningful impact

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in IT management, with a focus on engineering team leadership
  • Strong technical expertise, including experience with Excel and other IT tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with agile methodologies and a strong understanding of software development life cycles
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop creative solutions
  • Experience with personnel management, including performance reviews, mentoring, and career growth planning
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, including AWS or Azure
  • Experience with cybersecurity, including security protocols and threat analysis
  • Experience with data analytics, including data visualization and reporting
  • Certification in IT management, such as ITIL or CompTIA
  • Experience with remote work environments and distributed teams
