About the Role

The IT Operations Engineer is a critical component of LogicGate's internal technology ecosystem, responsible for the hands-on administration, lifecycle automation, and maintenance of the company's cloud infrastructure. This role serves as the functional anchor for the SaaS stack, designing integrations, securing the endpoint fleet, and driving operational efficiency across the business. The IT Operations Engineer will work closely with various departments, requiring exceptional collaboration and communication skills to break down complex systems architecture and technical concepts into straightforward insights.

As a key member of the team, the IT Operations Engineer will be responsible for translating technical data into executive-ready reports, guiding priority alignment, and updating senior leadership on infrastructure progress. What You Will Do

  • Own and continuously improve LogicGate's IT infrastructure at a foundational level, including endpoint management, identity services, SaaS stack integrations, and zero-trust network access controls.
  • Design, implement, and maintain advanced automation to streamline RBAC frameworks, automated user provisioning, and entitlement reviews.
  • Execute high-impact corporate IT operations projects end-to-end, including MDM policy deployment, SaaS license consolidation, and automated access review programs.
  • Partner closely with InfoSec to manage secure authentication architectures, audit SaaS access control policies, and ensure strict compliance with least-privilege principles.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot critical backend architecture, including AWS VDI workspaces and hosted SCIM bridges on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Evaluate and implement AI-powered productivity solutions, workflow automation, and emerging technologies that improve employee experience and operational efficiency.
  • Provide support for Chicago HQ technology operations, serving as an escalation resource for office infrastructure, conference room technology, networking, and onsite employee support when needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design integrations and secure the endpoint fleet, driving operational efficiency across the business.
  • Develop and maintain executive-ready reports to guide priority alignment and update senior leadership on infrastructure progress.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven domain experience: 3+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or systems engineering, demonstrating hands-on administration of enterprise cloud environments and project delivery.
  • Strong technical skills: proficiency in Excel, experience with cloud infrastructure management, and knowledge of security and identity governance principles.
  • Collaboration and communication: exceptional ability to break down complex systems architecture and technical concepts into straightforward insights, with polished communication skills.
  • Automation expertise: experience with automation tools such as Python, Bash, Okta Workflows, or Zapier.
  • Security focus: understanding of secure authentication architectures, least-privilege principles, and compliance requirements.
  • Project management: ability to execute high-impact corporate IT operations projects end-to-end.
  • Emerging technology interest: enthusiasm for evaluating and implementing AI-powered productivity solutions and emerging technologies.
  • Flexibility and adaptability: willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with endpoint management tools such as Jamf.
  • Knowledge of zero-trust network access controls and SaaS stack integrations.
  • Familiarity with Okta, Zscaler, or similar identity and access management solutions.
  • Certification in IT operations, security, or a related field.
