About the Role
The Janitor position at The Shaw Group's Pipe Fabrication Facility is a unique blend of traditional janitorial work and the need for an individual who can adapt to a dynamic work environment. Day-to-day, this role entails ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of both the fabrication facility and the adjacent office spaces. This is not just about maintaining a tidy workspace; it's about creating an environment that fosters productivity and well-being. What You Will Do
- Perform daily cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming, to ensure the facility is clean and presentable.
- Regularly clean and sanitize restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed to maintain hygiene standards.
- Clean and maintain office spaces, including desks, windows, and common areas, to create a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
- Empty and dispose of trash and recyclables from all areas of the facility.
- Responsible for routine floor care, including waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning, as needed.
- Keep windows clean and streak-free to ensure clear visibility.
- Monitor and report the inventory of cleaning supplies and request replacements as needed.
- Be mindful of safety protocols and report any potential safety hazards or incidents to the Facility Manager.
- Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks as necessary, such as changing light bulbs and fixing minor plumbing issues.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smoothly running facility and participate in periodic safety training and meetings.
What We Are Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and cleaning products.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear.
Nice to Have
- Experience with digital tools and software used in facility management.
- Certification in first aid or safety training.
- Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
