About the Role
The Japan Content Specialist role at amo is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company and lead content and creator efforts in the Japanese market. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for creating high-performing content, managing a pipeline of Japanese creators, and collaborating with paid marketing to drive growth. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, driven, and wildly creative, with a deep understanding of Japanese memes, humor, and online culture.The role will involve working closely with the growth, distribution, and product teams to shape the creative direction of amo's content in Japan. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest TikTok trends and trends in the Japanese creator landscape. The company is looking for someone who is scrappy, energetic, and experimental, with a passion for trying new ideas and taking calculated risks.
What You Will Do
- Create high-performing TikToks, Reels, and UGC-style ads that resonate with the Japanese audience
- Lead and manage a pipeline of Japanese creators, providing feedback and guidance to help them create engaging content
- Collaborate with paid marketing to turn great content into great performance
- Jump on trends before they hit the For You Page, staying ahead of the curve in the Japanese digital market
- Write briefs and give notes to external creators, helping them shine and produce high-quality content
- Work closely with the growth, distribution, and product teams to shape the creative direction of amo's content in Japan
- Support launches, events, and Japan-focused activations, ensuring that content is aligned with the company's overall strategy
- Analyze performance data, using insights to inform future content creation and optimization
- Stay up-to-date with the latest TikTok trends and trends in the Japanese creator landscape, applying this knowledge to create innovative and engaging content
- Develop and maintain relationships with top Japanese creators and micro-influencers, ensuring that amo is at the forefront of the Japanese digital market
What We Are Looking For
- 1-5+ years of experience creating short-form content, with a focus on brand, agency, influencer, or creator work
- Experience making content for ads, particularly UGC-style ads
- Experience managing creators or giving creative feedback, with a focus on helping others produce high-quality content
- Deep knowledge of TikTok and IG trends, as well as the Japanese creator landscape
- Japanese language and English language proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages
- Experience living in Japan, with a deep understanding of Japanese culture and customs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on experimentation and trying new ideas
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze performance data and inform future content creation
