Job Description

About the Role

The Senior Data Steward will play a key role in establishing and maintaining governance processes, managing metadata, and supporting data quality initiatives. This professional will act as a bridge between business and technical teams to ensure data is properly documented, trusted, and aligned with governance standards. As part of the Data Governance team, the Senior Data Steward will help drive data quality, ownership, and usability across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data quality principles. What You Will Do

  • Manage metadata requests and maintain data documentation and catalog information
  • Act as a business and governance analyst for data-related initiatives
  • Partner with data owners and business stakeholders to define and document data ownership and accountability
  • Ensure adherence to data governance policies, standards, and best practices
  • Identify data issues and coordinate resolution through the appropriate governance processes
  • Profile datasets and create basic data quality checks and controls
  • Support data-related requests and promote data usability and trust across the organization
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to improve data governance processes and standards
  • Develop and maintain data governance processes and standards
  • Provide training and support to stakeholders on data governance policies and procedures

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in Data Governance, Data Stewardship, or Data Management roles
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance frameworks and practices
  • Metadata management experience
  • Knowledge of Data Quality principles and controls
  • Experience with data ownership and data lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with Data Engineering concepts, including data ingestion processes and ETL/ELT
  • Understanding of programming logic and basic knowledge of Python
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced English (C1 or above), with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a global and cross-functional environment
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data catalog and metadata management tools
  • Experience implementing or supporting Data Quality initiatives
  • Knowledge of modern cloud data platforms and governance solutions
  • Familiarity with Databricks environments
  • Certification in Data Governance or related field
