Job Description
About the Role
The Journeyman Computer Systems Engineer and Architect plays a crucial role in the design, integration, and implementation of enterprise IT systems. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing system architecture documentation, configuration specifications, and test plans, as well as participating in pre-production engineering, lab validation, and deployment activities. You will work closely with senior engineers and architects to ensure that IT systems are secure, efficient, and cost-effective. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in system architecture principles, integration methodologies, and IT infrastructure domains, as well as experience working in a fast-paced, concurrent project environment.The role is remote, and the successful candidate will be expected to work independently and collaboratively as part of a distributed team. You will be required to develop proficiency across a breadth of technologies and to grow into increasingly complex engineering responsibilities over time.
What You Will Do
- Develop system architecture documentation, configuration specifications, and test plans
- Participate in pre-production engineering, lab validation, and deployment activities
- Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to design and implement IT systems
- Develop configuration runbooks and conduct lab testing
- Produce deliverable documentation under senior-level oversight
- Participate in 14-day operational testing periods following system transitions
- Provide support during after-hours deployment windows
- Coordinate with the O&M contractor to ensure smooth handoff of implemented solutions
- Contribute to ITSM/ITOM process engineering efforts
- Support the development of TSA’s integrated master schedule artifacts
What We Are Looking For
- A minimum of 4 years of systems engineering experience in enterprise IT environments
- Foundational knowledge of system architecture principles, integration methodologies, and IT infrastructure domains
- Experience working in a fast-paced, concurrent project environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop proficiency across a breadth of technologies
- U.S. citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status
- Ability to obtain TSA fitness determination
- Willingness to support after-hours implementation and transition activities

- Experience working with cloud, networking, and enterprise applications
- Knowledge of ITSM/ITOM process engineering principles
