## About the Role As a Junior AI Engineer at Trengo, you will be part of a small, high-performing team responsible for building the agentic AI systems that power the company's customer engagement platform. Your day-to-day tasks will involve designing, building, and shipping AI Agents, workflows, and automations that handle real customer conversations at scale. You will work closely with experienced engineers who will guide and support you in your role, providing valuable feedback and insights to help you grow.

## What You Will Do - Build and ship AI Agents and conversational workflows that power Trengo's customer engagement platform - Work with LLMs end to end, including prompting, context engineering, retrieval, tool use, and agent orchestration - Code with Claude Code every day to move fast and help sharpen how the whole team works with it - Own outcomes, turning customer problems and rough ideas into working features with support from senior engineers - Care about quality, holding a high bar on quality, testing your work, learning from what breaks, and iterating until it genuinely works - Grow together, sharing what you learn, asking good questions, and helping raise the bar as the team grows - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and engineering to ensure seamless integration of AI Agents and conversational workflows - Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to colleagues and incorporating feedback from others into your work - Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI, machine learning, and natural language processing, applying this knowledge to continuously improve Trengo's customer engagement platform

## What We Are Looking For - A Master's degree in AI, Computer Science, or a closely related field - Genuine passion for AI and building things, with a strong foundation in computer science and software engineering - Experience with Claude Code, or a similar development platform, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies - Strong coding skills in at least one language, such as Python or TypeScript, and a desire to grow and develop as a software engineer - Early in your career, hungry to learn, take ownership, and ship, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to take on new challenges - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams - A strong user of Claude Code, with experience in designing prompts, context pipelines, and workflows - Familiarity with cloud platforms, APIs, or event-driven systems, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

## Nice to Have - 1-2 years of internship experience in a similar fast-paced scale-up environment - Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks, RAG, or agent design - A portfolio, GitHub, blog post, or demo of something you built with AI, showcasing your skills and experience - Familiarity with cloud platforms, APIs, or event-driven systems, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
