About the Role

Lingokids is a global leader in educational technology, and as a Junior Product Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building features that millions of families use every day. You will be part of the Core Experience team, focusing on helping paying families get more value from Lingokids and stay with us over time. The team is responsible for developing the heart of the app, including content pages, feeds, rewards, favorites, Theater, Family Time, and navigation. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and designers, shipping real code to real families from your very first month.

As a Junior Product Engineer, you will be working on well-scoped features in the Lingokids app, using React Native and TypeScript across iOS and Android. You will write clean, readable code and participate in code reviews with your teammates to grow and improve.

What You Will Do

  • Build and improve features in the Lingokids app using React Native and TypeScript
  • Write clean, readable code and participate in code reviews with your teammates
  • Work closely with the design and product teams to ensure a smooth experience for kids and parents
  • Use AI to learn faster and skip tedious parts, with your judgment always in the driver's seat
  • Ask for help whenever you need it, and be open to learning and growing
  • Take ownership of your work and grow a little every week
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and designers as part of a multidisciplinary squad
  • Ship real code to real families from your very first month
  • Participate in pair programming, code reviews, and mentoring
  • Contribute to the development of the company's educational universe, including the Baby Bot and Baby Bot's Backyard Tales shows, Podcasts, and Music Publishing

What We Are Looking For

  • Hands-on experience building software with other people, whether through professional work, studies, a bootcamp, internships, or personal projects
  • Solid programming fundamentals, including clear code, the ability to read and understand others' code, and the basics of testing and version control (Git)
  • Foundational knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and a genuine eagerness to learn React Native and mobile development
  • A growth mindset, with a willingness to learn, ask questions, and take feedback as a gift
  • Care for the people who use what you build, with a focus on creating a high-quality learning experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
