About the Role
The Junior/Mid AI Legal Specialist role at EverAI is a unique opportunity for legal professionals to dive into the fascinating world of AI and tech. As part of the Compliance Team, you will be working closely with the Ethics and Compliance Officer to navigate the complex legal landscape surrounding AI technologies. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing legal and compliance-related workflows and projects, ensuring that EverAI's operations are always aligned with the latest regulations and ethical standards.Working in a full-remote setup from Austria, you will have the flexibility to manage your workload from anywhere, utilizing digital tools such as Excel to streamline processes and stay organized. The role requires a deep understanding of legal principles, particularly in contracts and data protection law, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a rapidly evolving tech environment.

What You Will Do
- Own and manage legal and compliance-related workflows and projects under the guidance of the Ethics and Compliance Officer.
- Collaborate with the Ethics and Compliance Officer to develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct thorough reviews of contracts to ensure they meet legal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of data protection laws and their application within AI technologies.
- Provide legal counsel to various teams within the organization on matters related to AI and tech law.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in AI law and compliance, applying this knowledge to improve internal processes.
- Engage in continuous improvement of legal workflows, suggesting enhancements and implementing changes as needed.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel as required to ensure the company's legal position is always protected and advanced.
- Participate in training and educational activities to enhance legal knowledge and skills, particularly in the areas of AI and tech law.
What We Are Looking For
- A recognized legal education (e.g., Masters of Law, Juris Doctor, or equivalent legal certification).
- 2-6 years of experience in a legal counsel role or similar position, preferably with experience in tech or AI law.
- At least 2 years of experience working with contracts, with specific experience in data protection law.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal information.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with both legal and non-legal teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Excel and other digital tools for legal workflow management.
- A passion for technology and AI, with a keen interest in staying abreast of legal developments in these fields.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Cursor, Hugging Face, and Claude Code.
- Knowledge of additional European languages, enhancing the ability to work with international teams and clients.
