What You Will Do

  • Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly, professional manner
  • Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol
  • Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions
  • Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions, even in challenging or emotional situations
  • Remain calm and composed during interpreting sessions, especially in emergency situations
  • Follow client instructions and protocol to ensure client expectations are met
  • Understand industry-specific terminology and procedures, including medical, insurance, and finance
  • Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and working in a diverse environment
  • Collaborate with other interpreters, language specialists, and technology teams to ensure seamless communication
  • Utilize Excel to track and manage interpretation sessions, client interactions, and performance metrics
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance language skills and industry knowledge

What We Are Looking For

  • Fluency in Kapingamarangi and English, with excellent verbal and listening skills
  • 1-2 years of experience in interpretation, translation, or a related field
