What You Will Do
- Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly, professional manner
- Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol
- Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions
- Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions, even in challenging or emotional situations
- Remain calm and composed during interpreting sessions, especially in emergency situations
- Follow client instructions and protocol to ensure client expectations are met
- Understand industry-specific terminology and procedures, including medical, insurance, and finance
- Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and working in a diverse environment
- Collaborate with other interpreters, language specialists, and technology teams to ensure seamless communication
- Utilize Excel to track and manage interpretation sessions, client interactions, and performance metrics
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance language skills and industry knowledge
What We Are Looking For
- Fluency in Kapingamarangi and English, with excellent verbal and listening skills
- 1-2 years of experience in interpretation, translation, or a related field
- Strong understanding of cultural differences and nuances
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
