About the Role
The role of a Language & Reading Tutor at Tutor Me Education involves delivering engaging, individualized virtual instruction to students across the United States. What You Will Do
- Deliver virtual instruction tailored to each student's reading level, literacy goals, and learning profile
- Create structured lesson plans focused on core literacy components, including phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and essay writing
- Adapt instruction in real-time based on student engagement, decoding challenges, and comprehension building blocks
- Track student progress and communicate effectively with families and school district partners regarding reading growth and language milestones
- Utilize digital tools, such as video conferencing software and digital whiteboards, to engage students and facilitate learning
- Develop and implement strategies to support students with diverse educational needs
- Collaborate with the Tutor Me Education team to refine instructional methods and share best practices
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and lesson plans
- Communicate with the Tutor Me Education support team to address any technical or logistical issues
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field
- Experience working with students who have diverse educational needs
- Ability to design and deliver lesson plans aligned to student goals and accommodations
- Strong virtual instruction skills, with comfort using video conferencing, digital whiteboards, and keeping students engaged online
- Ability to pass a background check
- Reliable computer, internet, webcam, and quiet workspace
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development
- Knowledge of grade-level standards and literacy benchmarks
