About the Role

As a Lead Commercial Counsel at Asana, you will play a pivotal role in providing commercial legal support to the sales teams and cross-functional stakeholders. Your primary focus will be on supporting Asana's StackAI business, ensuring that all commercial legal aspects are thoroughly addressed. You will work closely with various teams, including Finance, Deal Desk, Privacy, and Security, to facilitate high-velocity deal cycles. What You Will Do

  • Partner closely with sales teams and cross-functional stakeholders to support high-velocity deal cycles, ensuring that all commercial legal aspects are thoroughly addressed.
  • Provide legal guidance on commercial agreements, contracts, and negotiations, leveraging your expertise to mitigate risks and optimize opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Deal Desk team to streamline the contract review process, implementing efficient practices that align with business objectives.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure that all commercial legal matters are properly managed and that financial risks are minimized.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners and vendors, negotiating contracts and agreements that support Asana's business goals.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on commercial law matters, staying abreast of regulatory changes and developments that could impact Asana's operations.
  • Contribute to the development of legal templates, playbooks, and processes, aiming to standardize and improve the efficiency of commercial legal support.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects, providing legal input and ensuring that commercial legal considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
  • Manage and resolve complex legal issues, utilizing your expertise and judgment to find solutions that balance business needs with legal requirements.

What We Are Looking For
