About the Role

The Lead Data Analyst position at Aker Systems is a critical role that involves leading data and systems analysis activities for products and services. As a domain expert in your area, you will work within fast-paced client environments, collaborating with Agile technical delivery teams to drive business and technical requirements. With a strong focus on data analysis and technical analysis, this role requires a unique blend of skills, including expertise in SQL, data modeling, and stakeholder management. The successful candidate will be working closely with cross-functional teams, including solution architects, data consumers, and internal stakeholders, to create data specifications, develop detailed User Stories, and formalize results of data and systems analysis.

What You Will Do

  • Lead data and systems analysis activities within the project, identifying business and technical requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Conduct data analysis activities to identify detailed requirements, including business transformation mappings
  • Create technical User Stories, including task breakdown, and explain them to the technical delivery team
  • Work with the Solution Architect to develop and document detailed User Stories for the project backlog
  • Validate that the solution will meet the end-user requirements
  • Collaborate with data consumers and internal teams to create data specifications, including detailed data definitions and mappings
  • Take the lead on running workshops and data supplier engagement
  • Formalize the results of data and systems analysis into structured documentation and obtain approval from key stakeholders
  • Build strong business relationships with suppliers and consumers of data
  • Develop patterns and processes that can be repeated
  • Manage the project backlog in Jira
  • Actively contribute to other activities, including testing and validation of the end results

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or greater, ideally in Computer Science or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience within a similar role, such as Technical Analyst or Data Analyst
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery team
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across technology and business
  • Skilled in collecting and interpreting data, analyzing results to identify patterns and trends in structured and unstructured data sets
  • Experience with RDBMS and Dimensional Data Models manipulation, analysis, and interpretation of complex data sets using SQL and analytical functions
  • Understanding of data modeling, mapping, and workflow
  • Ability to apply suitable analytical approaches to requirements discovery, documentation, and solution delivery
  • Experience running requirements workshops to elicit business and technical requirements

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud-based data infrastructure and enterprise data platforms
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance regulations
  • Familiarity with project management tools, such as Jira
  • Certification in data analysis or a related field
