About the Role
The Lead Engineer - Controls Engineering role at GE Vernova is a technical guarantor for the design and performance of high voltage and HVDC substations. This critical position ensures that all projects meet customer expectations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. As a Lead Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement complex engineering solutions. Your expertise will be essential in promoting ease of installation, operation, and maintenance of the systems.In this role, you will work closely with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Your technical leadership will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas for process optimization, and implementing best practices.
What You Will Do
- Design and develop high voltage and HVDC substations, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate technical risks
- Develop and implement project plans, resource allocation, and schedules
- Manage and oversee detailed execution progress, coordinating delivery of required engineering documentation
- Support project documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, internal standards, and regulatory requirements
- Manage design packages integrated into 'Full set' projects
- Coordinate with suppliers and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design packages and project reports
- Participate in design reviews, gate reviews, and technical meetings to ensure that all projects meet the required standards
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university
- Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in the related activity/discipline, preferably in project and EPC type environments
- Familiarity with project technical management processes, preferably in a multi-disciplinary team context
- Fluency in English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work in different locations for short or medium periods and to travel worldwide
- Experience with high voltage and HVDC substations design, development, and implementation
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
- Familiarity with project management tools and software
Nice to Have
- Experience with project organization and engineering processes related to high voltage and HVDC substations
- Knowledge of quality processes and procedures, including compliance with GE policies and procedures
- Familiarity with technical problem-solving, design reviews, and gate reviews
- Experience with supplier management and coordination
- Certification in engineering or a related field
