Job Description

About the Role

The Lead GIS Supervisor position at GE Vernova is a critical role that ensures the safe and efficient execution of GIS service activities on customer sites. As a key member of the Field Services team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the execution of all GIS service activities, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance, and promoting a culture of accountability and operational excellence. The role requires strong leadership and technical skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

The Lead GIS Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the full build process of GIS installations, ensuring strict adherence to standards, and managing non-conformities to drive timely resolution. This role also involves acting as a key link between the GIS product unit, service teams, and clients, ensuring smooth communication and rapid escalation of product or installation issues.

What You Will Do

  • Supervise the execution of all GIS service activities on customer sites to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance
  • Ensure consistent delivery and environmental protection across all operations
  • Enforce rigorous standards, promote continuous improvement, and maintain strong operational discipline
  • Act as a key on-site leader, ensuring work is executed to the highest technical and environmental standards
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safe behaviors, and operational excellence across all service teams
  • Produce clear, timely reports on project progress, engineering issues, and site variations
  • Maintain accurate records, RAMS, NCRs, TQs, and other essential documentation
  • Conduct investigative site visits to assess equipment condition and failures
  • Contribute to contractor evaluation and performance reviews
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with GE governance, quality plans, and site standards
  • Plan and deliver work according to the agreed schedule, ensuring completion within predetermined timeframes and budget constraints

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong leadership and technical skills in GIS, with experience in installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of HV plant
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with clients
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety, quality, and compliance
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to drive timely resolution of non-conformities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to promote a culture of accountability and operational excellence
  • Ability to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments
  • Willingness to spend considerable time away from home for projects and field assignments
  • Strong engineering background, ideally with experience working with GEV equipment

  • Experience working in the energy sector, with a focus on sustainable energy solutions
  • Knowledge of UK and international legislation related to GIS and energy
  • Experience with project management tools and software
  • Certification in GIS or a related field
