About the Role
The Lead Product Designer role at Twilio is a unique opportunity to shape the future of communications and empower millions of developers and businesses worldwide. As a visionary and highly strategic designer, you will be responsible for defining the strategic user experience vision for Twilio's Email Products and steering the long-term design architecture for the foundational SendGrid email platform. The Channels UX team is a vibrant and diverse group of designers, engineers, and product leaders who are passionate about creating personalized customer experiences. As a Lead Product Designer, you will be part of a remote-first team that values connection, inclusivity, and global impact. You will report into the Channels UX leadership layer and partner closely with Product Directors and Engineering VPs across the email organization. - Architect the Twilio Email Vision: Own the holistic, end-to-end user journey strategy for Twilio Email inside the core One Console.
- Define the foundational mental models and interaction standards for complex API configurations, domain authentication, and transactional setups.
- Lead Cross-Channel Harmonization: Act as the strategic connective tissue between individual channel silos.
- Partner with design, product, and engineering leaders across Messaging and Voice to build unified, channel-agnostic configuration and observability narratives.
- Steer the Modernization of SendGrid: Define the long-term UX roadmap and structural evolution for the high-revenue, standalone SendGrid platform.
- Establish High-Level Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain design systems and standards for email products.
- Conduct user research and testing to inform design decisions.
- Create prototypes and high-fidelity designs to communicate design concepts.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet business and customer needs.
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on user-centered design and UX strategy.
- Portfolio that demonstrates expertise in designing complex, scalable systems and user interfaces.
- Strong understanding of design principles, human-centered design, and user experience best practices.
- Experience with design tools like Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and InVision.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of front-end development principles and technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with email marketing and transactional email systems.
