Lead Product Manager

About the Role

The role involves working closely with users to understand their needs, making decisions in ambiguous situations, and partnering with engineering and design teams to turn advisor needs into great products. The Lead Product Manager will report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with the product management, design, and engineering teams. This is an individual contributor role with end-to-end ownership of the roadmap, offering the opportunity to make significant contributions to the company's growth and development.

What You Will Do

• Own projects from problem definition through delivery, including PRDs, task breakdown, execution, and launch.
• Lead discovery through structured user interviews, usage data, and direct customer feedback to understand advisor needs and preferences.
• Translate complex portfolio and performance concepts into intuitive, trustworthy workflows that meet the high standards of accuracy and usability.
• Partner closely with the engineering team to deliver accurate, performant, and scalable analytics, ensuring that the platform meets the evolving needs of financial advisors and investors.
• Communicate timelines, tradeoffs, and changes clearly across the company, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
• Make thoughtful tradeoffs between correctness, usability, and speed, prioritizing the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet user needs.
• Be accountable for outcomes, not just output, focusing on the impact of the work on the company's goals and user satisfaction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement changes that enhance the overall user experience and platform performance.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the financial services industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities, to inform product development and strategy.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and methodologies in product management, applying this knowledge to continuously improve processes and outcomes.

What We Are Looking For

• A product manager with 5+ years of experience building and shipping data-driven or workflow-heavy products, preferably in the fintech or financial services industry.
• Proven ability to own complex problems and shipping solutions in domains where correctness matters, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality products.
• Comfort with quantitative concepts and the curiosity to go deep on portfolio analytics, options, and credit, with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply.
• Experience working with messy real-world data and making judgment calls, with a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
• Strong discovery instincts and a bias toward talking directly with users, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, with a self-motivated and results-driven approach.
• Clear, concise written communicator with excellent presentation skills, able to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the fintech industry or a related field, with a deep understanding of the financial services landscape and the challenges faced by financial advisors and investors.
• Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and agile development methodologies, with experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Certification in product management or a related field, such as CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) or AIPMM (Association of International Product Marketing and Management).
• Experience with data analytics tools and technologies, such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts, with an understanding of how these technologies can be applied to improve the user experience and platform performance.
