About the Role
The Lead Sales Engineer role at Fivetran is a critical position that combines technical expertise with business acumen to drive sales growth and customer success. As a trusted advisor to Fivetran's largest and most strategic customers, you will work closely with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities, while also providing technical guidance and support to existing customers. Your deep understanding of data integration, analytics, and cloud computing will enable you to effectively communicate the value proposition of Fivetran's solutions to both technical and business stakeholders.As a key member of the Fivetran team, you will be part of a dynamic and agile organization that is passionate about making access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure that Fivetran's solutions meet the evolving needs of customers in the APAC region.
What You Will Do
- Drive pre-sales technical discovery and solutioning discussions with data architects, data engineers, and other technical professionals
- Plan, manage, and close out technical demonstrations and proof of concept projects
- Respond to technical enquiries, including Requests for Information and Proposals
- Enable Fivetran staff, partner teams, and the data engineering community on data concepts, product features, and best practices
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to new customers to ensure successful adoption and scale
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to drive sales growth and customer success
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute account plans and sales strategies
- Provide feedback and insights to the product development team to ensure that Fivetran's solutions meet the evolving needs of customers
What We Are Looking For
- At least 6-8 years of experience working with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, SAP, or similar technologies
- Experience with data replication and integration tools, including CDC
- Solid knowledge of data lakes, lake houses, and scalable data foundations for AI use cases
- Proficiency in SQL scripting and data modeling
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
- Experience working with modern databases, including PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and MongoDB
- Strong understanding of data security and compliance, including data governance and data quality
Nice to Have
- Experience working with AI and machine learning technologies, including TensorFlow and PyTorch
- Knowledge of DevOps tools, including Jenkins and Docker
- Experience working with agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
- Certification in data engineering or a related field
