About the Role

The Lead Sales Engineering Specialist - Security role at Fivetran is a critical position that requires a unique blend of technical expertise and sales acumen. As a key member of the global sales engineering specialist team, you will work closely with the sales and field sales engineering teams to provide deep technical knowledge and understanding of Fivetran's internal security operations, related platform features, and the security domain. Your primary goal will be to support the sales teams in satisfying customers' security needs, ensuring timely and accurate responses to security questionnaires, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain the security and integrity of Fivetran's platform.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Fivetran's data integration platform, deployment methods, and security features, as well as experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. You will also be familiar with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, data loss prevention systems, and encryption, and have a solid grasp of security and data privacy compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI, HIPAA, HITRUST, and GDPR.

As a Lead Sales Engineering Specialist - Security, you will be responsible for leading documentation and internal enablement efforts, helping to scale the specialist knowledge to the entire department. You will also work closely with Fivetran's Product and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of the company's solutions to customer needs, and engage directly with prospects and customers on security architecture reviews and compliance discussions.

What You Will Do

  • Support the sales and field sales engineering teams with deep technical knowledge and understanding of Fivetran's internal security operations, related platform features, and the security domain
  • Deliver timely and accurate responses to prospect and customer security questionnaires utilizing internal tooling
  • Work with Legal and AppSec to maintain internal libraries for use in security questionnaires
  • Lead documentation and internal enablement efforts, helping to scale the specialist knowledge to the entire department
  • Work closely with Fivetran's Product and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of the company's solutions to customer needs
  • Engage directly with prospects and customers on security architecture reviews and compliance discussions
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the security domain
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain the security and integrity of Fivetran's platform
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Fivetran's data integration platform, deployment methods, and security features

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in a sales engineering or related role, preferably in the security domain
  • Strong understanding of Fivetran's data integration platform, deployment methods, and security features
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
  • Familiarity with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, data loss prevention systems, and encryption
  • Solid grasp of security and data privacy compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI, HIPAA, HITRUST, and GDPR
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop creative solutions
