About the Role
The Lead Senior Principal Cloud Developer role at General Dynamics Information Technology is a key position for driving cloud computing solutions forward. As a member of the software engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, architecting, deploying, and maintaining cloud solutions that meet the needs of government clients. Your day-to-day work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality solutions.The role is part of a dynamic team that works in a fast-paced environment, focusing on engineering, migration, and operations. You will be expected to be a self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team, taking on individual assignments and contributing to team efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud development, with experience working in large environments and a drive for innovation.
What You Will Do
- Design, architect, deploy, and maintain cloud solutions that meet the needs of government clients
- Maintain the integrity and security of systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
- Develop and maintain documentation to support cloud solutions
- Support and develop automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Develop in languages such as Bash, PowerShell, and Python
- Maintain and enhance knowledge of AWS cloud services
- Monitor and tune cloud systems to achieve optimum performance levels
- Work across teams and external customer groups to develop strategy, design solutions, and advise implementation teams
- Deal with escalations, making assessments, recommendations, or providing solutions to resolve issues
- Compose and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions, knowledge articles, etc.
What We Are Looking For
- Education: Technical Training, Certification(s), or Degree
- Experience: 8+ years of related experience with AWS cloud computing
- Required Skills: Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Bash, PowerShell, or Python
- Development background in Node.JS and React.JS
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and event-driven architecture
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences
- Ability to obtain a position of Public Trust
