Job Description

About the Role

The Learning and Development Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting Dagen's learning initiatives, providing temporary coverage during a maternity leave. This is a contract position from July to November, and the ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can manage multiple priorities and drive projects to completion. The specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with stakeholders to gather information and support learning initiatives.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include coordinating learning and development programs, maintaining training matrices and learning records, and assisting with LMS activities. The specialist will also be responsible for curating and refining existing content into learner-friendly formats, creating and editing presentation materials, and summarizing complex information into clear, concise learning content.

What You Will Do

  • Support the administration and coordination of learning and development programs
  • Maintain and update training matrices, learning records, and training documentation
  • Assist with learning management system (LMS) activities and learning operations
  • Organize, track, and manage learning-related projects to ensure deadlines are met
  • Curate and refine existing content into learner-friendly formats
  • Create and edit PowerPoint presentations, training materials, content outlines, and job aids
  • Summarize complex information into clear, concise learning content
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information and support learning initiatives
  • Monitor project timelines and proactively identify and resolve obstacles

What We Are Looking For

  • 2-5 years of experience supporting Learning & Development, Training, Organizational Development, or Talent Development functions
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS); Workday Learning experience is a plus
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills
  • Experience maintaining training matrices and learning documentation
  • Ability to create, edit, and refine presentation materials and learning content
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to summarize information effectively
  • Comfortable working independently with limited direction
  • Demonstrated ability to manage shifting priorities and changing business needs

Nice to Have

  • Experience with content creation and curation
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software
