About the Role

The Licensed Insurance Sales Agent role is a key part of Nerdwallet's mission to bring clarity to life's financial decisions. As a member of the NerdWallet Insurance Experts team, you'll focus on guiding customers through the process of quoting, comparing, and binding Home, Auto, Umbrella, and Flood insurance from a network of trusted carrier partners. This role is perfect for those who enjoy building relationships and delivering value to customers.

Day-to-day activities will include client consultations, policy comparisons, and application processing. You'll also be responsible for meeting or exceeding sales targets and maintaining high client retention. What You Will Do

  • Conduct client assessments to evaluate insurance needs and potential risk
  • Meet or exceed sales goals by policy premium
  • Recommend appropriate products, including auto, home, life, and health insurance
  • Clearly explain policy terms, coverage, and pricing to clients
  • Prepare and submit insurance applications and related documentation
  • Manage policy renewals and support clients through the claims process
  • Stay informed on current products, compliance requirements, and industry updates
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to revenue growth
  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely processing of applications
  • Report on sales performance and relevant metrics

What We Are Looking For

  • Active Property and Casualty Insurance License
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a P&C insurance agent
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with personal lines insurance carriers and their underwriting processes
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, email platforms, and quoting software
  • Experience quoting, selling, and servicing personal lines insurance products
  • Understanding of relevant insurance products and regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service and relationship-building skills

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in sales or customer service
  • Independent agency background in personal lines
  • Demonstrated success quoting and binding across a multi-carrier marketplace
  • Familiarity with Google Docs, Zoom, and Slack
