About the Role
The Licensing and Compliance Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that Altisource's operations are aligned with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. This expert will be responsible for monitoring regulatory changes, performing compliance-related research, and managing projects to maintain compliance. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to mortgage lending and will be able to provide strategic guidance on compliance management.As a key member of the Compliance team, the Licensing and Compliance Specialist will work closely with various stakeholders, including the Mortgage Real Estate Services team, to improve key documents, policies, and procedures. This role requires a high degree of independence, discretion, and judgment, as well as excellent project management skills.

What You Will Do
- Monitor regulatory changes and perform compliance-related research to ensure that Altisource's operations are aligned with regulatory requirements
- Manage projects to maintain compliance, including coordinating with the Mortgage Real Estate Services team to improve key documents, policies, and procedures
- Provide strategic guidance on compliance management, including developing and implementing compliance management policies and practices
- Act as a subject matter expert on federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to mortgage lending
- Assist with audit preparations, including SSAE 18, SOX audits, and client audits
- Maintain a database of applicable state and federal statutes and regulations having compliance components as they relate to mortgage operations and real estate guidelines
- Plan and execute projects by identifying and coordinating resources, creating and maintaining detailed plans, monitoring progress, informing stakeholders, and ensuring on-time delivery of results
- Coordinate with the team in preparations for the monthly compliance call, including creation of the compliance deck, prep calls, follow-up, and leading the monthly compliance call
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, industry associations, and internal teams
What We Are Looking For
- Compliance and/or audit experience, with experience reading, interpreting, tracking, and administering regulatory requirements, internal and external guidelines, and contracts
- Experience working in the real estate industry, creating processes and controls to ensure compliance
- Extensive knowledge of RESPA, FHA, GLBA, and State Real Estate Regulatory requirements
- Experience researching and implementing procedures and controls to address laws and regulations
- Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to provide management with the necessary information to make business decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy and quality in work products
Nice to Have
- Experience in the title industry, with a deep understanding of the regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Certification in compliance, audit, or a related field, such as CCEP or CIA
- Experience with project management tools and software, such as Asana or Trello
- Familiarity with regulatory software and systems, such as compliance management platforms
