About the Role

The Mainframe Senior z/OS System Programmer role at Kyndryl is a key position that involves developing, testing, and maintaining the software that controls a computer's operating system, hardware, and other systems software. What You Will Do

  • Develop, test, and maintain the software that controls a computer's operating system, hardware, and other systems software
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues on the Mainframe z/OS Operating System and multi-vendor Products
  • Provide the underlying Mainframe operating system platform programming and DBDC subsystem programming support
  • Guide functional objectives on technologies and drive solutions to complex problems
  • Conduct RCA discussions for the products you work on and provide ongoing technical and operational guidance to lead professional work teams
  • Manage departments on a national or international level, defining objectives and managing resources to ensure the success of your projects
  • Influence people outside of your department or function and directly shape the technology landscape of the world we live in
  • Install, Upgrade and Apply maintenance to z/OS Operating System and multi-vendor ISV Products
  • Lead projects to Implement new solutions on the z/OS Operating System and ISV Products

What We Are Looking For

  • Required experience with z/OS, SMP/E, z/OSMF workflows, IBM Mainframe
  • Knowledge of Coupling Facility support, Sysplex management and High Availability
  • Experience with Hardware Configuration Definition (HCD) and IODF management
  • Experience with set up and use of GDPS for disaster recovery and site swaps
  • Familiarity with taking dumps, traces and gathering appropriate documentation for analysis
  • Good English communication skill to handle meetings with clients, partners and co-workers
  • Strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with other mainframe operating systems
  • Knowledge of cloud-based technologies
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Certification in mainframe programming or a related field
