About the Role
As a Maintenance professional at ExplorUS, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep of the company's buildings and grounds, including lodging, retail stores, restaurants, and employee housing. Your day-to-day tasks will involve performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including landscaping maintenance, handling of recyclables, and ensuring the cleanliness and appropriate stocking of supplies for all restrooms. You will be part of a team that prioritizes customer service and strives to create a positive work environment.The maintenance team at ExplorUS plays a vital role in the company's operations, and as such, you will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with colleagues, customers, and management. What You Will Do
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including landscaping, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and emergency systems
- Assist in the diagnosis and repair of minor problems in various areas, including plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry
- Handle recyclables and ensure that recycling efforts are consistent and handled according to the company's environmental processes
- Ensure that grounds are always neat and well-maintained, handling mowers, trimmers, and other appliances in a safe and effective manner
- Maintain customer service standards, responding to all requests and complaints in a timely and safe manner
- Regularly inspect the business grounds and buildings to identify maintenance needs
- Train and promote safe work practices according to company and industry standards
- Ensure that all public areas, specifically restrooms, are always properly sanitized and cleaned, maintaining adequate stocking levels of required supplies
- Actively participate in creating a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and adhering to the company's ISO management systems
- Assist with organizing and prioritizing service requests and general maintenance tasks
What We Are Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Two years of facility maintenance experience
- Possess a wide range of maintenance skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to carry out a wide range of repairs with excellent quality
- Excellent customer service and people skills
- Ability to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet and/or exceed customer expectations
- Knowledge of safe work practices (OSHA)
Nice to Have
- Experience with landscaping and grounds maintenance
- Familiarity with HVAC and plumbing systems
- Basic carpentry skills
- Experience with emergency systems and waste management
