About the Role
The Maintenance Officer role is a critical part of the school's operations team, responsible for maintaining the premises, buildings, grounds, and property in a functional, neat, and orderly condition. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Business Manager and Principal to ensure the school's facilities are safe, secure, and well-maintained. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical skills and a passion for working in an educational environment.The Maintenance Officer will be an integral part of the school community, providing support to staff and students alike. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. The Maintenance Officer will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and school policies.

What You Will Do
- Maintain the school premises, buildings, grounds, and property in a functional, neat, and orderly condition
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements of equipment and fixtures
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and school policies
- Provide support to staff and students, including setting up and breaking down equipment for events and activities
- Conduct regular inspections of the school's facilities to identify potential hazards and risks
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure the school's facilities are well-maintained
- Collaborate with other staff members to achieve the school's goals and objectives
- Provide training and guidance to other staff members on maintenance-related tasks
- Manage and maintain the school's inventory of equipment and supplies
- Develop and implement procedures for handling emergencies and unexpected events
- Liaise with external contractors and service providers to ensure the school's facilities are well-maintained
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in a maintenance or related role, preferably in an educational setting
- Strong technical skills, including experience with hand tools and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and school policies
- Experience with digital tools and technology, including computer-aided design software
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies
- High school diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education or training in a related field preferred
