Job Description

About the Role

As a Major Account Executive at GitLab, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the company's largest and most strategic customers in Germany. This role involves working closely with pre- and post-sales teams, as well as strategic channel partners, to drive full-cycle sales and ensure successful adoption and expansion of GitLab's DevSecOps platform. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the customer's business needs and be able to leverage solution selling expertise to respond efficiently to these needs.

What You Will Do

  • Manage and support GitLab's major accounts in Germany, developing strategic plans to meet customer needs and drive business growth
  • Leverage solution selling expertise to respond to customer needs and identify business potential
  • Work closely with pre- and post-sales teams, as well as strategic channel partners, to drive full-cycle sales
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer performance metrics and develop plans in anticipation of customer business strategies and goals
  • Expand knowledge of the industry and competitive posture of the company
  • Contribute to root cause analysis on wins and losses
  • Communicate lessons learned to the team, including account managers, marketing, and technical teams
  • Provide account leadership and direction in pre- and post-sales processes
  • Conduct sales activities, including prospecting and developing opportunities in major accounts
  • Ensure successful rollout and adoption of GitLab products through strong account management activities
  • Utilize a consultative approach to discuss business issues with prospects and develop formal quotes and sales proposals
  • Develop an account plan to sell to customers based on their business needs
