About the Role
The Major Account Manager position at Datadog is a critical role that involves driving new business and expanding the company's existing client relationships. As a key member of the Major Accounts Team, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities, while also nurturing and growing the company's existing customer base. The team's success has a direct impact on Datadog's overall performance, making this a highly visible and challenging role.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise software sales, with a proven track record of success in managing complex client relationships and identifying new business opportunities. You will be working in a fast-paced, remote environment, so the ability to work independently and manage your time effectively is crucial.

What You Will Do
- Prospect into a targeted set of accounts and run an efficient sales process
- Nurture existing client relationships and grow the Datadog footprint
- Maintain, build, and own specific relationship maps for your territory, including existing relationships and aspirational contacts
- Develop a deep comprehension of the customer's business and identify new sales opportunities
- Negotiate favorable pricing and business terms by selling value and ROI
- Demonstrate resourcefulness when faced with challenges and determine necessary steps to close business and gain customer validation
- Identify a robust set of business drivers behind all opportunities and ensure high forecasting accuracy and consistency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the sales cycle and achieve sales goals
What We Are Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise software sales, with a proven track record of success in managing complex client relationships
- Experience selling Fortune 100 companies and winning new business
- Strong understanding of GTM ecosystems and the ability to manage a complex account team
- Experience selling new solutions into accounts already leveraging core technical products
- Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding direct sales goals
- Ability to demonstrate methodology to prospect and build pipeline on your own
- Experience working for an innovative tech company and willingness to travel over 50% of the time
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with Excel and other sales tools
- Strong understanding of cloud-based solutions and the tech industry
- Experience working in a hybrid or remote work environment
- Certification in sales or a related field
- Experience with sales training programs, such as MEDDIC and Command of the Message
