About the Role

The Management Consultant role at mercor is a unique opportunity to work with a leading AI research lab, developing business cases and go-to-market strategies for AI initiatives. As a remote contract position, this role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, with a commitment of at least 10 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management consulting, with experience in strategy development, market research, and data analysis.

The role is part of a team that collaborates with stakeholders to define key metrics and decision points, and supports strategic planning, scenario modeling, and opportunity evaluation. The team is looking for someone who can synthesize data into actionable insights using presentations, memos, and models, and who is comfortable working independently in ambiguous or rapidly evolving contexts.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions
  • Develop business cases, operational frameworks, and go-to-market strategies for AI initiatives
  • Synthesize data into actionable insights using presentations, memos, and models
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define key metrics and decision points
  • Support strategic planning, scenario modeling, and opportunity evaluation
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in AI and related fields
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to inform business decisions
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes

What We Are Looking For

  • 1.5+ years of experience at a top management consultancy (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or Big 5)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and basic data analysis tools
  • Experience in strategy development, market research, and data analysis
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous or rapidly evolving contexts
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in the tech, AI, or SaaS industries is preferred

Nice to Have

  • Experience advising on tech, AI, or SaaS industries
  • Familiarity with machine learning or deep learning concepts
