About the Role
The AI Deployment Engineering team at Openai is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective deployment of Generative AI applications for developers and enterprises. As the leader of this team, you will play a critical role in driving the technical success of Openai's most strategic customers in the Americas. You will manage the entire implementation journey, ensuring seamless platform integration and delivering exceptional customer outcomes.The AI Deployment Engineering team acts as a trusted advisor and thought partner for customers, working to build an effective backlog of GenAI use cases for their industry and driving them to production through strong technical guidance. As the leader of this team, you will be responsible for owning the strategy and operating model, ensuring alignment with company objectives and the evolving needs of customers.

What You Will Do
- Own the strategy and operating model of the AI Deployment Engineering team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer needs
- Lead, build, and mentor a team of high-performing AI Deployment Engineers to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
- Serve as the technical advocate for customers, synthesizing their needs to develop Research and Applied Product/Engineering roadmaps
- Act as the primary technical escalation point during development, fostering trust and maintaining direct communication with executive-level stakeholders
- Serve as an industry thought leader, championing the safe and innovative application of Openai's technology across various sectors
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and identifying opportunities for growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Research, Engineering, and Product, to drive the development of new AI solutions
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI and machine learning, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in the team's work
- Manage the implementation journey for customers, ensuring seamless platform integration and delivery of exceptional customer outcomes
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring the safe and effective deployment of AI solutions
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in a technical customer-facing role, managing C-level technical and business relationships with complex global organizations
- 2+ years of experience leading technical post-sales teams, with a demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and manage technical teams
- Experience leading complex implementations of Generative AI or traditional ML solutions, with knowledge of network/cloud architecture
- Industry experience in programming languages like Python or Javascript
- Effective and polished communication skills, with the ability to translate business and technical topics to all audiences
- A humble attitude, an eagerness to help others, and a desire to pick up whatever knowledge is missing to make both the team and customers succeed
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Research, Engineering, and Product

- Experience working with AI or machine learning technologies, with a deep understanding of the technical and business implications of these solutions
- Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, including AWS or Azure
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment, with the ability to collaboratively work with team members across different locations
- A strong understanding of the business and technical implications of AI and machine learning, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions
