Job Description

About the Role

The AI Success Engineering team is the backbone of Openai's customer success strategy. As a Manager of AI Success Engineers, you will lead a team of highly skilled engineers who partner with customers to ensure the successful adoption of Openai's products. Your team will work closely with customers to understand their business needs and develop tailored solutions to drive business outcomes.

The role entails building and executing a comprehensive strategy for customer onboarding, activation, and adoption. You will need to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI and ensure that your team is equipped to support customers in leveraging these technologies. As a leader, you will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of engineers.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for customer onboarding, activation, and adoption
  • Lead and manage a team of AI Success Engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their success
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Solutions Architecture, and Product, to drive customer success
  • Work closely with customers to understand their business needs and develop tailored solutions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customer stakeholders, including executives and technical leaders
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI and ensure that your team is equipped to support customers
  • Analyze customer data and provide insights to drive business outcomes
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Participate in sales calls and meetings to provide technical expertise and support
  • Travel to customer sites as needed to support onboarding and adoption

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience leading technical teams, including 3+ years managing post-sales technical roles
  • Proven track record of scaling technical teams and operating models in high-growth environments
  • Experience designing or owning coverage models, staffing strategies, and engagement frameworks for post-sales technical teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence executive stakeholders
  • Technical expertise in AI, including experience with generative AI and adjacent SaaS platforms
  • Experience with Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Ability to operate with humility, ownership, and a bias toward action to ensure customer and team success
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines

  • Experience with customer success platforms and tools
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles, including experience with sales calls and meetings
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment
  • Certification in AI or a related field
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
