About the Role

The Manager, Data Science role at Crowdstrike is a unique opportunity to lead a team of data scientists at the forefront of machine learning and cybersecurity. The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include leading and mentoring a team of data scientists, establishing technical standards and best practices for machine learning development, and defining the technical strategy for machine learning initiatives in threat detection and agentic AI for security. You will also be responsible for leading machine learning projects from initial research through production deployment, working closely with stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet business needs.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and mentor a team of data scientists to develop and deploy machine learning models and solutions
  • Establish technical standards and best practices for machine learning development
  • Define and drive the technical strategy for machine learning initiatives in threat detection and agentic AI for security
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative security solutions
  • Lead machine learning projects from initial research through production deployment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet business needs
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in machine learning and cybersecurity
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and threats to the organization
  • Develop and manage project plans and timelines to ensure successful delivery of solutions
  • Communicate technical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders

What We Are Looking For

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related STEM field
  • 5+ years of experience in data science and machine learning, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or team lead capacity
  • Proven track record of leading machine learning projects from research to production deployment
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, threat landscape, and security operations
  • Programming proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks and big data technologies
  • Experience mentoring and developing data scientists and machine learning engineers
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS or Azure
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Certification in machine learning or data science
