About the Role
The Manager, Event Operations role at Docker is a critical component of the company's marketing strategy, responsible for overseeing the operational execution of Docker's event portfolio. This includes major conferences, developer roadshows, digital events, and community activations, all of which play a vital role in fostering engagement and enthusiasm among Docker's vast community of developers and users. As a key member of the events team, the successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Events and cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth delivery of these events, managing timelines, project plans, and execution milestones across multiple concurrent events.The events portfolio is a cornerstone of Docker's outreach and community-building efforts, providing a platform for the company to showcase its products, share knowledge, and build lasting relationships with its user base. As such, the Manager, Event Operations will be instrumental in shaping the event strategy, identifying operational risks, and developing scalable, repeatable processes that ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality events.

What You Will Do
- Own the operational execution of Docker's event portfolio, including conferences, roadshows, digital events, and community activations
- Coordinate planning timelines, manage vendors and logistics, and oversee budgets and the event tech stack
- Develop and maintain scalable event operations, including repeatable planning templates, run-of-show frameworks, and operational playbooks
- Manage event registration, attendee experience, and lead capture and badging across the portfolio
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, agencies, venues, and internal teams to ensure seamless event execution
- Own the event technology stack, ensuring data flows cleanly into marketing and sales systems
- Manage end-to-end event budgets, including purchase orders, invoicing, and post-event reconciliation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product Marketing, Developer Relations, Field Marketing, and Sales to translate program goals into clear operational plans
- Operationalize developer-focused programs, including roadshows and community activations, and build frameworks for expansion into additional markets
- Track event KPIs and pipeline/ROI, run post-event debriefs, and lead reconciliation and timely handoff to sales
- Provide operational and logistics support to Field Marketing across regional events, roadshows, and third-party/sponsored events
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in event management, event operations, or experiential program management
- Proven track record of managing complex event portfolios and ensuring operational excellence
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple concurrent events
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Experience with event technology stacks, including registration, mobile apps, and lead retrieval systems
- Strong budget management skills, with experience overseeing event budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Experience with Salesforce and Excel, or similar CRM and spreadsheet software
Nice to Have
- Experience in the tech industry, preferably with a focus on software development or community engagement
- Knowledge of marketing automation platforms and their integration with CRM systems
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Certification in event management or a related field, such as CMP or CMM
