Job Description

About the Role

The Manager, Fundraising and Government Grants, plays a pivotal role in TNTP's philanthropic strategy, ensuring the organization effectively cultivates and stewards relationships with grant-making institutions and donors. This position requires impeccable project management skills to support the Fundraising Team and collaborate with various departments, including Consulting and Central Operations. The goal is to achieve TNTP's ambitious goals for growth and impact, fostering economic and social mobility for millions of students.

Working closely with the Partner and Directors on the Fundraising team, the Manager will be integral in supporting fundraising processes and grants management operations. This involves a deep understanding of the philanthropic landscape, particularly in the PK-12 education field, and the ability to identify and cultivate new relationships.

What You Will Do

  • Support the timely submission of grant proposals, including the development of supplementary materials, through strong project management.
  • Manage the grant agreement review and signing process.
  • Track grant payments and donations and develop acknowledgement letters.
  • Forecast and manage all grant reporting processes, timelines, and information-gathering efforts.
  • Copyedit and submit grant proposals and reports.
  • Support the Fundraising and Government Grants Team's knowledge management activities.
  • Develop solutions to grants management challenges as they arise.
  • Conduct regular audits of Salesforce data to ensure the philanthropic portfolio is accurately recorded.
  • Conduct research on current and prospective funders.
  • Provide general writing, editing, and other funder communications support.

What We Are Looking For

  • At least three years of relevant fundraising and/or project management experience.
  • Familiarity with education issues, research, and policy.
  • Experience using Salesforce.
  • Strong attention to detail and deadline-driven.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of the philanthropic sector, particularly in education.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SharePoint or similar knowledge management tools.
